Letters of Administration
The Letters of Administration is a document granted by the Supreme Court who appoints someone to legally administer the distribution of a deceased estate.
The estate is usually distributed according to the intestacy rules in the Succession Act 2006 NSW.
You can apply for Letters of Administration if:
- A person has died intestate (they have died without leaving a Will)
- A person did not name an executor in a valid Will
- The executor of the Will is unwilling or unable to act.
